Members Introduction

All my life I have always searched for an understanding of how things work. When I came across accounting it allowed me to understand how businesses worked. Being a CFO of a small hedge fund, I came to love small businesses and how they allow for rapid change and evolution. My experiences have led to my passion of empowering small businesses and through these courses you will learn strategies to achieve sustainable evolution and enjoy financial freedom along the way.

Turning Profit into a Habit

When I received my first paycheck from my uncle’s coffee shop at 13, I learned the concept of “pay yourself first”. This concept involved taking 10% of my paycheck and placing into a Credit Union. Later in life I read books like the Richest Man in Babylon, Automatic Millionaire, and Profit First that enforced the “pay yourself first” mindset which I applied to my business at the onset. Now my company pays me a monthly dividend and I enjoy the financial freedom that turning profit into a habit has afforded me. This course will provide you with the strategies and knowledge to turn profit into a habit rather than an event you're waiting to happen.

Discovering Your Secret Sauce

My work experience reflects my fascination with the understanding of how things work. My interest in how buildings work led me to architecture. My interest in how systems work led me to the world of engineering. My interest in how businesses work led me to my final career destination, accounting. In 2014 when I became the CFO of a small hedge fund, I was able to bring my work experience together to create my Secret Sauce: the understanding of how small businesses work, implementation of effective systems to write a financial story (FINstory), analyze the FINstory, and plan a better next chapter to the FINstory each month. Through this course you will learn to discover your company’s Secret Sauce and how you can revolutionize your FINstory.

How to Find Your Ideal Client

After opening FINdetail I landed my first client, which by chance was my ideal client. In order to replicate this ideal client, I knew I needed to identify what my client valued so that I could amplify those aspects in my marketing. My hope was I would attract similar clients as well as take on referrals from my ideal client to build a healthy and prosperous client base. This course will provide you with the tools to identify your ideal client and connect with more.

My love for how things work together with my passion for how to make things work better led me to investigate my grandfather's belief that a bee is the most intelligent of all creatures. He believes that if mankind implemented the bee's system of work, we'd all still be living in the Garden of Eden.
